Just finished stitching the final grasses on this course sample for the Embroiderers’ Association of Canada. This image was taken from the dock at my parent’s home in rural Manitoba. The channel of water is protected from the lake and is the most amazing spot to see wildlife and for capturing sunset photos. I must have a hundred sunset pics on my camera roll from this very spot!
This is my second time re-creating this photo in thread. The first one I gave to my father as a gift and with dozens of similar thread paintings under my belt, I have finally mastered this technique of turning beautiful photos into thread paintings.
